Our Story
Our Christian lives were blessed on Saturday, February 23, 2002 in a marvelous way. We were faced with breaking family ties, counting the cost, and denying self all of which Jesus indicated was the foundation for discipleship. Our leader, The Rev. Charlotte McSwine-Harris was given a new lease on life which became the impetus for what is now known as the Charles City Community Church. Of course, we started as "The Christian Gathering" and met on Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the home of Letcher, Christina and Lamar Brown. It was a rainy day on the outside but a warm and glorious day inside. There were thirty three persons in attendance. Later, we moved to the home of Dante, Toya and Paula Cotman and from there we moved to the Buck Hill Hunting Club. Due to obstacles, we made the Charles City Fire Station #2 our new home where we were able to worship one Sunday. Although, we were challenged with having a place to pitch our tent, God made a way out of no way for us and we have been at our present location since March 31, 2002. We are extremely thankful to God for this place of worship
